The template for Erasmus Student Network
Rol: Animator / Motion graphics template designer
Creative Studio: The Others
Agency: ESN
Client: EACEA
Template development to save substantial animation hours of repetitive assets.
In 2022 The Others was asked to deliver 52 videos in different languages to the EU. 52 videos of around 5 minutes each. That makes an approximate of 260 minutes of animated content produced in 9 months. Up to 11 animators, 9 illustrators, 20+ voice actors, producers and writers made their contribution to the project.
I was responsible for designing and executing a template to unify common animation assets. Besides animating.
The quick recap
A quick video for reference
What was included in this template?
The first thing that sparked the idea of the template was the dialogue boxes. The idea of animating by hand hundreds if not more than a thousand different dialogue boxes was shuddering.
When the dialogue boxes were completed, the recap section was automated in order to avoid differences in style and add simplicity to the process.
After that, transitions, color picking automation and character rigs were unified under standard configurations.
